Being and Nothingness

Thrilled to finally be starting rehearsals for Being and Nothingness. It’s a piece I absolutely love to work on and is a particularly special ballet to me. I couldn’t be prouder or more excited to be dancing it in a few weeks in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where the company will be touring for the first time in its history! After being there last year, I can’t wait to return and for Russia to experience this amazing program.

August 2018

And so it begins….my 29th season at the NBOC with 3 wonderful performances at the Festival des Arts de Saint Sauveur. What an incredible way to start off the year with a collection of my favourite pieces: Jiri Kylian’s glorious Pas de deux, Nuages; Corsaire Pas de deux; James Kudelka’s Summer Pas de deux and a brand new role for me, Ophelia, in Guillaume Cote’s world premiere of Hamlet Redux!

On Tour

After an exhausting few weeks of performances, the countdown to the end of the season is on! Now in Hamburg for a couple of days to dance Crystal Pite’s Emergence on tour with the company. Excited to be in this beautiful city after a 24 year absence and ready for opening night tomorrow!

Frame X Frame

After 3 years of workshops and preparations, Frame X Frame is finally here! What an honour it has been to work with the incomparable genius that is Robert Lepage. It is truly a ballet like no other we’ve ever done. I can’t wait to see how the audience responds to this incredible multi-disciplinary work.

The Four Seasons

I am so happy to be in the studio rehearsing Summer in James Kudelka’s The Four Seasons. Created for me 21 years ago, it is such a special piece for me. Intense, highly demanding and just as rewarding as it was the very first time I danced it, I can’t wait to perform it again in just a few weeks!

Winter’s Tale

Finally making my debut in the beautiful role of Paulina in Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale. I had to bow out of my performances the first time we did this ballet because I was pregnant with my daughter, so this has been a long time coming! Paulina is a deeply touching role that I’m really looking forward to and with only a few performances this fall, you won’t want to miss it!

Romeo and Juliet at The Bolshoi

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be invited to the famed Bolshoi Ballet to stage a ballet. But that’s exactly what happened this past September when I had the honour and privilege of setting Alexei Ratmansky’s beautiful production of Romeo and Juliet. What an incredible opportunity to teach one of my favourite roles to some of the world’s greatest ballerinas. Truly an unbelievably inspiring experience!

I have always dreamed of one day dancing Jiri Kylian’s beautiful pas de deux, Nuages. That dream is finally coming true and I’ll have the wonderful opportunity to dance it with one of my favourite partners, Marcelo Gomes. New York bound to rehearse and prepare for my debut in just a few weeks!

Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I can’t believe I get to work with such incredible artists, artists like Wayne McGregor. As one of the most brilliant dance makers in the world today, I am always inspired by him and adore performing his work. Genus, originally created for The Paris Opera, will make it’s premiere here in Toronto in just a few days and I’m so psyched to be performing in it!

I have so much to look forward to this season at The National Ballet, starting with one of my all time favourite roles; Tatiana in Onegin. I’m thrilled to be celebrating my anniversary at a special performance this Saturday evening. Don’t miss this ballet masterpiece!
