Spring season’s on the way

After a very demanding and emotional March season, I was thrilled to welcome a week off. Now it’s back to rehearsals for the upcoming June performances of Jerome Robbins’ Opus 19/ The Dreamer and William Forsythe’s the second detail. What a pleasure to revisit these 2 extraordinary works and a perfect way to end the year.

Welcoming 2014

Starting off the new year with an old favourite, Swan Lake, in Ottawa on January 31st and then onto rehearsals for the March season. I’ve been waiting all year for A Month in the Country to come and it’s finally here. It’s a perfect gem of a ballet and a role I’ve been wanting to dance for a long time. I’m enjoying every minute of the process and so excited about the shows which start at the end of February.

Swan Lake

I’m so happy that I’ll be dancing Swan Lake this November with Matthew Golding. We’ve only danced together once before, in Giselle for YAGP’s “Ballet’s Greatest Hits” last January. Although it was a quick rehearsal and performance period, we hit it off right away and I loved every minute dancing with him. He is a wonderfully sensitive and generous partner, not to mention fantastic dancer, so I’m very excited for our upcoming performances. Come and see us November 13th and 16th @ 7:30pm at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts!

A great start

After a busy summer performing in Saratoga, N.Y. and Saint-Sauveur in Quebec, I’m happy to be back getting ready for a new season. This year is starting off amazingly. Guillaume and I have been working together over the past few weeks and he has created a beautiful solo for me. I’m thrilled that I’ll get to perform it for the first time at a Gala on October 3, in Providence, Rhode Island. The whole creative process has been most inspiring and I can’t wait to perform it. And as an added bonus, I get to visit my hometown and also dance a pas de deux with my husband! What a nice way to start the year.

A busy summer ahead…

After finishing a wonderful season full of touring and many performances, I’m finally enjoying a much needed week off. Then it’s back to work on my favourite ballet, Giselle. We are taking it on tour to Saratoga, N.Y. where I’ll be dancing the opening night on July 17th. Following that, I’m excited to be going to Montreal to dance at the Festival de Saint-Sauveur on July 27th & 28th, where I’ll get to perform with my husband once again. It’s going to be a very busy summer but I can’t think of a better way to begin the year.

Ballet in Cinema

After a busy March season of Romeo and Juliet and The Four Seasons, I had another exciting premiere. “Ballet’s Greatest Hits”, which features me dancing Giselle, opened in over 200 theatres across the United States on March 31st! It will be playing throughout the month of April too and I am so proud to be a part of this extraordinary production. I can’t wait to finally see it on the big screen!

On the road again

What a treat it was to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC for the past 2 weeks. Fabulous theatre and amazing city. I even had over 70 family and friends in attendance at my last show! Now we are in Ottawa to perform Romeo and Juliet. So excited for my show on Saturday night(Feb 2)! From Red Queen to Juliet in 7 days.
